Lighting ideas for Main Task

Notes on lighting

Lighting in my main task is going to be mainly hard lighting and natural as the majority of the scene takes place outside during the day time, which is stereotypical to the action genre that we are trying to convey. However, we may consider using lighting in one of our indoor scenes, for example a backlight which would enhance the dramatic tension the protagonist is experiencing and allows the audience to share this tension. We aim to expose the main character while drawing the viewers’ attention away from the background so they can concentrate on the main character. Alternatively, we can do the reverse and light the background while the character remains in darkness adding to the mystery of the characters story. An example is the picture below.
